VSA 4.7


  1. In TradeStation, close all open Desktops and or Workspaces that have charts with any of the VSA indicators on them. If in doubt, open a new desktop and then close all other desktops. Now open a new empty workspace.
  2. Now browse to your main Computer folder in Windows, and select the C Drive.
  3. Open the TradeGuider47 folder.
  4. Select the Configuration folder.
  5. Find and remove files config47_1401.db and config47_1403.db. If you only need to reset the scanner, then do not delete the config47_1401.db file.
  6. Close the Configuration folder window.
  7. Go back to TradeStation and open a new chart, make sure that there are no indicators on the chart. If there are any indicators, remove them by right clicking on the chart and selection Format Analysis Technique, then select each indicator and remove it.
  8. Right-click on the chart and select Insert Analysis Technique.
  9. Select the Indicator tab.
  10. If you only need to activate the scanner skip to step 17.
  11. Make sure that the Prompt for Format box is checked, then select the TG_VSAPlugin_4_7 indicator.
  12. Select the Inputs tab if it is not selected.
  13. Enter your email address in the ActivationName field. Make sure that you put your email address between the quotation marks.
  14. Enter your activation code in the ActivationCode field and make sure that the activation code is between the quotation marks.
  15. Click OK.
  16. Wait for the TG_VSAPlugin indicator to activate. This will be apparent when the diamonds and VSA sow and sos indicators appear on the chart. If they are not active after a couple of minutes check your email address and your activation code in the settings. If they are correct and the software has still not activated, open a new ticket.
  17. After the TG_VSAPlugin has activated correctly, activate the TG_VSAScanner.
  18. Right-click on the chart and select Insert Analysis Technique.
  19. Make sure that the Prompt for Format box is checked, then select the TG_VSAScanner_4_7 indicator.
  20. Select the Inputs tab if it is not selected.
  21. Enter your email address in the ActivationName field. Make sure that you put your email address between the quotation marks.
  22. Enter your activation code in the ActivationCode field and make sure that the activation code is between the quotation marks.
  23. Click OK.
  24. Wait for the TG_VSAScanner_4_7 to activate. Check for the activation by opening the Scan manager or All Scanners. If it does not open wait a little longer and if they open gray in color then check your activation name and code for correct spelling.
  25. Once activated, close the chart and open one of your previously saved workspaces or chartbooks to verify the activation was successful. 




VSA 4.5

  1. In TradeStation, close all open Desktops and or Workspaces that have charts with any of the VSA indicators on them. If in doubt, open a new desktop and then close all other desktops. Now open a new empty workspace.

  4. Select the Configuration folder.
  5. Find and remove files config45_0401.db and config45_0403.db. If you only need to reset the scanner, then do not delete the config45_0401.db file.
  6. Close the Configuration folder window.
  7. Go back to TradeStation and open a new chart, make sure that there are no indicators on the chart. If there are any indicators, remove them by right clicking on the chart and selection Format Analysis Technique, then select each indicator and remove it.
  8. Right-click on the chart and select Insert Analysis Technique.
  9. Select the Indicator tab.
  10. If you only need to activate the scanner skip to step 17.
  11. Make sure that the Prompt for Format box is checked, then select the TG_VSAPlugin_4_5 indicator.
  12. Select the Inputs tab if it is not selected.
  13. Enter your email address in the ActivationName field. Make sure that you put your email address between the quotation marks.
  14. Enter your activation code in the ActivationCode field and make sure that the activation code is between the quotation marks.
  15. Click OK.
  16. Wait for the TG_VSAPlugin indicator to activate. This will be apparent when the diamonds and VSA sow and sos indicators appear on the chart.   24. Wait for the TG_VSAScanner_4_5 to activate. Check for the activation by opening the Scan manager or All Scanners. If it does not open wait a little longer and if they open gray in color then check your activation name and code for correct spelling.
  25. Once activated, close the chart and open one of your previously saved workspaces or chartbooks to verify the activation was successful. 


If this does not work, then open a new ticket and let tech support know that you were not able to reset the activation of VSA for TradeStation. There are reasons that it may not work, before you try to uninstall the software and perform corrective actions on your own, contact technical support.
