When the VSA indicators have disappeared and the diamond trend is gray, or the scanner window is all gray, this means that there is an issue with the activation of the VSA software on your computer. This can be caused for various reasons including but not limited to loss of internet, internet connection issue between your computer and the server, Windows updates, and improper setup or use of the VSA software.



First, do not uninstall the VSA software! To correct this you will need to reset the VSA software activation by following these steps.


  1. Open the file explorer on your computer.
  2. Select the C Drive on your computer.
  3. Open the TradeGuider45 folder (4.5) or the TradeGuider47 folder (4.7).
  4. Open the Configuration folder.
  5. Find and delete the following configuration files:
    1. VSA 4.5: If it is only the scanner then delete only the config45_0003 file. If both the plugin and scanner no longer work delete the config45_0001 and the config45_0003 (scanner) files.
    2. VSA 4.7: If it is only the scanner then delete only the config47_1003 file. If both the plugin and scanner no longer work delete the config47_1001 and the config47_1003 (scanner) files.


ACTIVATE PLUGIN


  1. Create a new profile. Click File on the menu and choose Profiles, then choose the Save As option. Give your new profile a name, e.g. RESET or something similar.
  2. In this new profile, close all open charts.
  3. Open one new chart. If there are any indicators remove them from the chart.
  4. Open the Navigator window if it is not open.
  5. Scroll down the list and expand the Indicators section, 
    1. VSA 4.5: Find the TradeGuider45 folder and expand it.
    2. VSA 4.7: Find the TradeGuider47 folder and expand it.
  6. Now left click on the TG_VSAPlugin and drag it to your chart. 
  7. Select the Common tab (4.5) or the Dependencies (4.7) and make sure that the "Allow DLL imports" is checked.
  8. Select the Inputs tab and scroll down and find the Activation Name value and enter your email address. Below that in the Activation Code value enter the activation code for the plugin that is available in your account on the TradeGuider website.
  9. Click the OK button and wait for the activation to complete. This may take a minute.


ACTIVATE SCANNER


  1. Locate the TG_VSAScanner from the Navigation window.
  2. Left click and drag the TG_VSAScanner and drag it to your chart.
  3. Select the Common tab (4.5) or the Dependencies (4.7) and make sure that the "Allow DLL imports" is checked.
  4. Select the Inputs tab and scroll down and find the Activation Name value and enter your email address. Below that in the Activation Code value enter the activation code for the scanner that is available in your account on the TradeGuider website.
  5. Click the OK button and wait for the activation to complete. This may take a minute.


Now that you have reset the activation you will be able to use your previously saved profiles or apply any templates that use the VSA indicators.

MT4 Activation Reset


Here are some key things to keep in mind when you are going to reset the VSA software.


Having multiple charts open with VSA will interfere with the activation reset. In MT4 it is helpful to create a new profile, then close all open charts and open a new chart. If there are indicators on this chart, remove them before you try to activate the VSA software. You must first activate the TG_VSAPlugin before you can activate the TG_VSAScanner.


Once you have reset the activation and both the TG_VSAPlugin and TG_VSAScanner are activated, you may open one of your previous chartbooks that contain charts with the VSA indicators.
